We are happy to announce that Dr. Branchini will be joining us in July 2026!
Lauren Branchini, MD
Dr. Branchini grew up in upstate New York and made her way to New England for undergraduate work and medical school, receiving her degree from Boston University School of Medicine in 2012. She completed her residency training in ophthalmology at the New England Eye Center at Tufts University School of Medicine, graduating in 2016.
Her passion for retinal imaging began early in her training, when she pursued a dedicated research fellowship in Optical Coherence Tomography — a technology that has transformed how we see and treat diseases of the retina — jointly through the New England Eye Center and MIT. That work led to more than a dozen peer-reviewed publications and presentations at major national conferences, establishing her as a recognized contributor to the field of retinal imaging research.
After residency, Dr. Branchini built her clinical career across New Hampshire and Massachusetts. In 2020, she joined the faculty of UMass Chan Medical School as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ophthalmology and Visual Sciences, where she has found deep satisfaction in teaching the next generation of physicians.
Dr. Branchini now calls the Worcester area home, where she lives with her husband and children. Outside of medicine, she is an avid gardener, a lover of travel, museums and libraries. She is actively involved in the arts: a fitting reflection of someone whose clinical work has always been shaped by both scientific rigor and a deep appreciation for the world we see around us.
She is currently accepting new patients and provides comprehensive medical and surgical eye care.
