Lauren Colwell, MD

Dr. Colwell is an ophthalmologist and fellowship-trained oculoplastic surgeon specializing in the treatment of droopy eyelids (ptosis), eyelid malposition (entropion and ectropion), and tearing disorders. Her goal is to improve function while maintaining natural-appearing results. 

Originally from Massachusetts, Dr. Colwell graduated magna cum laude from Brown University with a degree in Public Health with Honors. She completed a research year at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital before earning her medical degree from UMass Chan Medical School. She was inducted into both the Gold Humanism Honor Society and the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.

Dr. Colwell completed her internship at Newton-Wellesley Hospital and her ophthalmology residency at UMass, followed by a two-year fellowship in Neuro-Ophthalmology, Oculoplastic, and Skull Base Surgery at Wills Eye Hospital in Philadelphia—one of the nation’s leading eye hospitals. Her academic work has focused on diseases of the cavernous sinus, and she has presented at national meetings including American Society of Ophthalmic Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ASOPRS), Combined Otolaryngology Spring Meeting (COSM) and North American Skull Base Society (NASBS).

Dr. Colwell is board certified and accepting new patients. She is dedicated to timely access to care, safe and effective surgical treatment, and coordinated care with referring providers.
